As much as I didn't like book 2 overall, I'm still excited to watch. Damn that goodwill from Avatar really carries over.

Well, you already know, the characters aren't all that well developed or likable, that you're not gonna care about what happen to them and that the whole thing is just not gonna be exciting.

And that's ignoring how lore breaking it all is in terms of mythos.

The whole Ramsay thing was downright silly though. That guy has some absurd plot armor.

Characters that make grand statements about mundane things being akin to war annoy me.

Also that crazy face he does looks really stupid considering all he's doing is slicing up vegetables.

Sometimes gourmet mangas try really hard to be battle mangas.

That fight was rather silly.

Seeing them insisting on using those ridiculously large longswords in one had even though they don't have anything else in the other hand and they blatantly don't have a firm grip on them (They couldn't even hold them still without them wobbling about.) was really awkward.

@Annd, like Manscher just said, I've seen the same in plenty of jpop vids, how is this any different?

How is blackface different from ...

Those JPOP bands are selling a crafted image of themselves. They are Japanese and also speak to a Japanese public.

And even if some of them do what you think they do, that doesn't make it right. :|
In eastern Europe, black men walk the beaches in pairs wearing grass skirts carrying a stick. They offer tourists to take pictures of them hanging upside down from the stick like a pig (cannibal style) for a quick buck.

Just because there are some sellouts willing to make a mockery of their own culture for money doesn't mean buying into it is alright.

Anndgrim, I wasn't assuming anything. I said I'd be fine with colored individuals entering hollywood as long as they can act. You two seemed to have gotten it in your heads from my words so many things I think yet did not say. Of course there is still plenty of oppression all around. I just tire of people who freak out about small things like this silly video outcrying racism like a god damn keyboard warrior. Japanese interlace English in their songs CONSTANTLY, CONSTANTLY~!!!!!!!!!! for example.

Just because I pointed out some things that whites are legitimately experiencing you say I'm acting like a victim, wtf?

It's not because it has Japanese words that it's being called racist.

It's being called because it's depicting a certain, extremely stereotypical, exaggerated and inaccurate vision of Japan and the Japanese people.

Where's the outcry when non-white riffs on white? Oh yeah, never.

This just in, every race of every color has at one time had every other race of every other color as a slave. Get.The.f***.Over.IT.

I didn't want to say more on this subject, but this is the biggest pile of bullshit I've seen in a while.
On the first statement...racism is different than prejudice. Prejudice is obviously about pre-judging people based on misconceptions. Everyone can be prejudice. Racism has to do with a system put in place that puts the group of people facing the racism at a disadvantage compared to the race that does not face the racism. In this case, in the case of the Western World, that race is white people, who are in control. That's just a fact. For example they get paid more for the same exact work than people of other races. (Women of color get paid less than white women, who make less than white men, but that's another issue) This affects the quality of life of the minorities. The employers display a prejudice that is harmful to the entire group, keeping them in poverty, and that is racism. What is not racism is saying 'white people can't dance'.
And no not every race of every color has had every other race of every color as a slave. That is just historically inaccurate. Sure some people enslaved their own people, but the transatlantic slave trade is another f***ing beast that contributed to so many problems still faced in entire continents.
And it's because of posts like you made right here, telling people to get over it, that people of color say 'really white people?' <any black comedian> I'm unclear of what country you hail from but political correctness and racism against whites is rampant in the United States. So called 'minorities' receive jobs above whites, scholarships, etc. Now, don't assume anything here. I'm not saying it's some kind of one way street, that's beyond silly. I have no tolerance for racism whatsoever. I'd gladly put any legitimate racist out of their misery without hesitation (ignore the other implications of that sentence and take it for it's meaning).

Countless music videos use other cultures as themes, calling it racist is just pathetic. Honestly calling this racist are you basically saying the Japanese girls dancing in the video are racist? Are they not racist because they're Japanese? Did they get paid off to be race haters of their own? Come on.

There is no doubt legitimate racism left in this world. However there is a whole f***ton of it that's a lot of guilt tripping bs. The fact people still get atomic level offended by words is beyond pathetic. Words mean NOTHING. YOU CREATE THE MEANING.

'The white man' is most notoriously/infamously culpable of racism in the eyes of many yet there is not a continent on this earth that at one time or another did not have slaves. That STILL has slaves. White people have to basically walk on eggshells these days as to not offend another race, at least in America.

Again, don't assume. Well aware of how poverty keeps individuals in that world with little escape. Feeling so sorry for these individuals however is another story. If you want to discuss that, I'm willing.

Honestly wolf I don't mean to personal attack but I tried to ignore other times when you made it clear about more people of color in hollywood. It's something that wouldn't bother me whatsoever, only matters that they can act. However in the specific case of Batman vs Superman for example, changing the races of characters is absolutely racism. If super heros of color are wanted then they should be made from the ground up, not convert current characters out of some sense of political correctness.

It's funny how to some nothing short of extreme racist violence is racism.

Racism is often hateful and angry but it doesn't have to be.

During the colonial era french colons talked about Africans as if they were simple-minded children and mentally handicapped and talked about their duty to "educate" them.

That was EXTREMELY racist.

Also, yah. You're just gonna assume that the reason there is not more people of color in Hollywood movies is because they can't act. Not because serious leads are always given to the target demographic "straight white males" and other ethnicities are relegated to the roles of the bad guy, the good guy that dies or the comic relief. (Still hasn't changed)

As for casting an actor of a different color...

Given how okay everyone is about revisiting characters and their backstories, are you saying that the color of a character skin is such a crucial trait that changing it is basically destroying the character?
Are you saying that people of different skin colors are not in degree, but in nature so different that it is much bigger infidelity that completely changing a characters personality or backstory?

Because that IS racist.

This is a message from a "straight white male" :

As a "straight white male" it is very easy to think your demographic is "under attack". "Straight white male" don't think they have it better than others, so when others try to fight for equality, "straight white males" think that those other people are out to get them.

So here is a big reveal :
  • "Reverse" racism is not an actual society issue
  • "Feminazism" is not a real society issue
  • "Heterophobia" is not a real society issue

Stop buying into the whole victim mentality because you really don't know hat you're talking about.

Not to mention "reverse" racism is a pretty questionable term. Is there a right normal way to be racist (being white), and then there's a "reverse" way.

We're better off without them, as wolf said.

I don't think we need the Member of [Insert club] Master Race vs Filthy everyone Peasants mentality back.

And even in the clubs like that... I don't see why we should subscribe to a movie club just to talk about movies.

That would seem to be the rule.

So is it a victory for women or a victory for shame and convention?

Seriously? Harem ending.

They discredit everything that happens before them. They have "otaku completely disconnected from reality" written all over them. And seriously, the "everyone is happy" thing is bull, it's just a main character being exploitative and manipulative of other people's feelings.

Referring to the Miyazaki thread, they're a stereotypical symptom of anime becoming more and more enclosed in their own little stereotypical anime world where stereotypical anime characters have stereotypical anime personalities and stereotypical anime background stories and do stereotypical anime things while being by stereotypical anime situations.

Ah, so Nora isn't just named Nora, she is a Nora.

I doubt Nora is her name. They probably just call her that.

Could just be me but I'm really getting annoyed with Yukines reasons for not wanting to be Yatos regalia. I mean yeah I get it hes not rich but the other reasons he state just get to me. I mean his reasons like for example not having a decent place, he lives with Hiyori and still runs away. Another reason is that hes practically pissed off that Yato has another regalia, he even says he doesnt feel that Yato needs him since he has Nora but then he goes off to the other god, forgot his name the one that deals with education, and asks to be his regalia when he has a shrine full of them. He needs to get his act together.

his kind of people you can get along with superficially, occasionally but they're still unstable, I doubt anything short of getting rid of him one way or another will do the trick. Some people feel like everyone owes them everything and nothing is ever their fault.

If you've ever played a MMO you'll know that many of them give you NPC allies, be they permanent or attached to a specific mission.

And no! This is not hacking. If he can do it, it clearly means that it was meant to be possible, or for something of the sort to be possible.

And as far as we know there might not be a "real" world.
Multiple elements tend to indicate that they aren't inside the machine. The former NPCs have become real people, things obey to the laws of physics rather than to game rules exclusively, they have a direct impact on the world and the objects. Also, as you may have noticed, objects are full and solid rather than textures warped around meshes.
