There is a well researched article in the October 2014 Smithsonian Magazine about the origins of the Wonder Woman comics. Although the above video states that Elizabeth Holloway, the wife of her creator William Marston, is the inspiration for Wonder Woman, the article suggests instead that it was Olive Byrne, his mistress and former student with connections to early suffragists that was the greater influence.
